Geospot: Ristinge Hale
Holocene marine foreshore formation in the form of a crumbling dune complex with seawalls, salt marshes and small beach lakes.
Ristinge Hale is made up of materials from Ristinge Klint, brought here by the coastal current.
Constitutes the innermost part of a series of low islands and sandbanks (marine formations) created on top of a shallow, arcuate, submarine sill that represents a glacial margin from the end of the last ice age. The line continues over towards Ærø, where it joins the Eriks Hale area.
