Head out to the geopark's exceptional ice age landscape at Egebjerg Mill and Rødme Svinehaver. While you're in the area, we recommend two powerful experiences; a trip to the treetops in Gorilla Climbing Park and the popular mountain bike trail Skovhuggeren

If there is one place in the Svendborg area where you can experience the geopark's unique ice age landscapes, it's at Egebjerg Mill and Rødme Svinehaver. Here, you'll experience a unique view of the hilly ice age landscape, an exhibition about the natural and cultural history of the geopark and equipment for exploring the area with children.

Enjoy the view from the terrace as well as the impressive glass prism offering panoramic views and binoculars.

Go for walks in the beautiful, untamed nature of Rødme Svinehaver. The area was put under protection in 1939, and the rare plants and insects are signs of the unfertilised nature of the grassland dating back hundreds of years.

If you’re looking for adrenaline-fueled adventures, we recommend two powerful experiences. Bring a mountain bike and try the 17 kilometres of the trail SKOVHUGGEREN, which is often mentioned among the coolest MTB trails in Denmark. Both blue and red routes are available, so everyone will be able to join in.

A 7 km drive from the trail, you'll find Gorilla Park; a thrilling tree-climbing adventure park featuring climbs up to 26 meters high. It contains eight climbing courses with challenges for all ages and abilities.

Time required

From 4 hours - depending on the length of walking, cycling and climbing.

Recommended means of transportation

Car or bike from Svendborg to the area (approx. 10 km). Parking is available 500 meters from Egebjerg Mølle - see map. From here on foot and by bike.

Special notes

The stairs inside the mill are relatively steep and will be difficult for people with reduced mobility. You can reach the mill terrace by an outdoor spiral staircase, which is less steep.
