Hike The Archipelago Trail and enjoy breathtaking views of the picturesque hilly landscape of the Svanninge Hills and Mountains. The first stretch takes you from Falsled to Faaborg, where you'll reach two of Funen's highest points along the way.

The Archipelago Trail (Øhavsstien) is a 220 km hiking trail beautifully surrounded by the South Funen Archipelago. The first section runs from Falsled to Faaborg (26 km in total). Along the way you'll reach two of Funen's highest points (Trebjerg and Lerbjerg) offering breathtaking views of the distinctive hilly landscape, also known as the Funen Alps.

The landscape was created when the ice moved back and forth at the end of the last ice age. Imagine ice 2-3 kilometres thick, pushing and crushing gigantic amounts of soil and rock with the force of a bulldozer. This process is the basis for the amazing landscape we know today, and which inspired the Funen painters in the late 1880s and the famous painting "Aftenleg i Svanninge bakker".
